Rutland Subaru Making a Difference in the Community

Learn About Rutland Subaru Community Events

Whether you live right here in Rutland or nearby in one of the surrounding communities, you're probably well aware of our community involvement and events sponsored by our Subaru dealership. The Subaru brand itself is well-known for its dedication to important causes that go on all over the nation, and we here in Rutland carry that legacy with us close to home near Manchester, Middlebury and Bennington. If you're new to the area or are just meeting the Rutland Subaru family for the first time, make your way over to our location on Route 7 today to see what kinds of events we have going on to help out with the local community.

Even if you're an out-of-state shopper visiting from Glens Falls, NY or Lebanon, NH, you can appreciate our dedication to the local community here in Rutland County. In fact, if you're shopping for a new Subaru during certain times of the year, your lease or purchase might even go to a great cause like the local food shelf, the Humane Society and other great causes in southern Vermont. But you don't even need to be shopping for your next Outback, Forester, Ascent or Impreza to get involved. As you'll quickly see, we sponsor or support all kinds of great community events around the area all year round, so visit us today and see what we're up to.

The Long Trail Century Ride

An event established through a partnership of Long Trail Brewery in Bridgewater Corners, Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports, Killington Resort, the Lookout Tavern, and many local businesses in the Killington region. The goal of the annual event is to enjoy the beauty of Vermont through cycling all while raising funds for the state's largest nonprofit organization committed to providing sports and recreation to people with disabilities.

Whether cycling on the 100-mile or 60-mile loops, or simply journeying near the Brewery on the 20-mile loop, there is something for everyone to enjoy during the Long Trail Century Ride. All courses start and finish together at Long Trail Brewery, located on Route 4. The festivities continue for all after the ride at the brewery, where a BBQ menu will be prepared, live music and family entertainment, refreshments, and more will make this an event not to be missed.Registration will be capped at 500 cyclists total (100-, 60- and 20-mile combined). Apres-ride party tickets are available for those who would like to celebrate with us but aren't riding. See the registration page for details and apres-ride party tickets.

Rutland Subaru is Proud to Help With These Wonderful Local Community Happenings

We're always getting involved with new and existing community events, but here's a few highlights from the past few years that you may have seen the Rutland Subaru name attached to. Let us know if you have any ideas for future events we might be able to sponsor, or check in with us about the annual happenings we regularly support.

  • Slater Cup at St. Catherine Country Club: Supporting the Fair Haven Union High School Booster Club, this event at St. Catherine Country Club in Poultney was a huge success.
  • Michael O'Malley Memorial golf Tournament: At the College of St. Joseph, this golf tournament supports the Michael O'Malley Criminal Justice Scholarship Fund.
  • Hope for High Beams in the Race for the Cure VT: Celebrating and supporting cancer patients and survivors, this part of the Race for the Cure VT is a huge boost for several of our neighbors battling a tough disease.
  • Green Up Vermont: An annual Green Mountain State tradition for the past 45 years, Green Up Vermont is a great time for Rutland Subaru to be involved with, helping to keep our gorgeous state as green as it's known for.
  • Subaru Share the Love Event: This is the annual Subaru of America effort to support organizations and causes in the communities that dealerships like ours serve. A recent Share the Love event saw Subaru District Representative Mike Hutchings joining our president and owner, Stephan Maedar and our GM, Bryan Haggerty, to present VT Adaptive Ski and Sports with a check for $17,098. This great organization works with athletes who need extra assistance when staying active, especially with all of the great ski and ride and winter sports opportunities here in southern Vermont.

Of course there are plenty of other causes and events we're proud to support, and you might even have one on your mind that you think Rutland Subaru should participate in. Be sure to keep up with our blog for updates on community events, and check in during the holiday season during our Subaru Share the Love sales events, when your new Subaru purchase or lease can actually help one of these great causes.
